BALLET

Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms.  In Ballet, dancers will be trained in classical ballet technique through exercises at the barre, in center, and across the floor. The focus in Ballet is to build strength, flexibility, grace and control. Dancers will become comfortable working in turned out positions, expand their dance vocabulary, and will improve their memory and performance skills.

Attire: Pink ballet tights, Leotard
Shoes: Pink canvas ballet shoes

JAZZ

In Jazz, dancers will learn jazz technique and terminology through warm ups, center exercises, across the floor exercises, and center combinations. Dancers will improve their strength and flexibility, become comfortable working in parallel and turned out positions, expand their dance vocabulary and their ability to execute new dance moves, and will improve their memory and performance skills.

Attire: Fitted tank top or leotard with dance shorts or pants

LYRICAL

Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques. Choreographers and dancers learn to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. A lyrical dancer’s movements attempt to show the meaning of the music. Lyrical is a very passionate and emotional dance style.

Attire:Leotard or any dance apparel
Shoes: Turn Shoes

TUMBLING

Tumbling builds strength and flexibility while learning a variety of tricks such as cartwheels, handstands, front and back walkover, aerial and back handsprings. These skills are important for students to learn because they are often choreographed into routines.

Attire: Leotard or any dance apparel
Shoes: Bare feet

HIP HOP

Hip hop is funky street dance to upbeat music with freestyle movements and tricks.  It is currently a very popular dance style that is extremely fun to watch.  Dancers will learn musicality, agility, rhythm and strength.

Attire: Loose clothing that you can move in
Shoes: Tennis Shoes
